From someone who has studied eczema for years and whose family is full of doctors. Your eczema is not going to heal unless you think outside the box a little bit.

I’m no different than you…. For years I was told eczema won’t go away because I'm stressed at work, or it's because of my allergies. Then I took a trip to visit my brother who’s been a doctor his whole life in Massachusetts.

He told me it isn’t allergies, it isn't stress, it may not even be the food I eat. It stems from your skin being in constant contact (at least once everyday) with harmful chemicals. These chemicals seep through your pores, and into your bloodstream, this is how they affect the skin's natural balance. And once unbalanced that is what triggers dry skin, eczema, or even allergies for some people.

But where does my skin come into contact with these chemicals? I know I don’t sleep, walk and rub them all over my skin at night. So from where. When I got home from seeing my brother's family I decided it was time to start from ground zero.

The next morning, I stopped using everything. All the moisturizers, lotions, shaving cream, and even body washes. All I'd use to stay clean is a limited ingredient body wash and limited ingredient shampoo.

Before making any claims, 3 weeks went by. You wouldn’t believe the results…..

You probably could have guessed, my eczema and dry skin went away for the most part. But there were other changes I noticed which were even more of a surprise. I began to sleep much better and for longer without waking up in the middle of the night, my stress levels were down, which was odd because more things were piling onto my plate, even my energy was up, I’d go outside daily to play catch with my son who at the time was into baseball!

Later in my life I began to realize just how harmful these ingredients are, what they do to the body, and how they aren’t just in body washes and shampoos. They are everywhere, from shaving creams, lotions, and even lip balms.

Today, one of my greatest accomplishments is having my family join this journey with them. Despite our ages 50, 47, 26, 21, 16, there is only one constant: we don't use normal drug store soaps and beauty products. We stick to natural, readily found in nature products and we are all thriving!
